Community can be described in a variety of ways, but when boiled down to its most basic attribute, it's all about having people who feel connected to each other. It's not just a gathering of people who make up a society; it's a state of mind. It's a sense of belonging, acceptance, and support from others. When we are connected to others, we might ultimately experience a sense of belonging and love.
What are the importance of community when dealing with mental health?
As social animals, we are not created to dwell in isolation. In order to thrive, we need to be part of a community, especially if we have a mental condition that causes us to feel isolated and lonely.

Belonging:
Loneliness is a common experience for those who feel they don't fit in. Having a sense of community makes you feel like you're a part of something larger than yourself. In this case, it's not about conforming to a group. To have a meaningful sense of belonging, you must be able to accept yourself fully as a member of the group. Being a part of the community doesn't require changing anything about yourself; instead, you are accepted and celebrated for who you are.
Support:
When you're in a dilemma, who do you call? In tough times, having someone you can turn to for support and advice might help you get through them more easily. Being around by individuals who care and are willing to stand by your side can lift your spirits and brighten your perspective of life.
Purpose:
People in a community take on several hats. Maybe you're the kind of buddy who loves to cook and can always be counted on to bring a hearty dinner to someone who needs it. Or perhaps you are the friend who people know they can confide in when they are going through a difficult time. Taking on these jobs might provide you with a feeling of purpose through improving the lives of those around you. Giving back and making a difference in the lives of others ultimately provides a sense of purpose.
Security:
When it comes to the most important human wants, security is right up there. When you feel safe and secure, you have a good sense of well-being. That a person's safety and safety aren't restricted to a single setting or community is the most significant part of their sense of security. When confronted with new situations and encountering new individuals, those who have a sense of security are more likely to be open and communicative. People who have a sense of community are more inclined to trust and rely on others in other settings because they feel more at ease doing so in a community.

Values:
What do you believe in? Charities and voluntary activity could fall under this category. Giving back to the community helps you connect with individuals who share your values or are dedicated to the same causes. Volunteering is a terrific opportunity to become involved in your community and give back to those around you.
Beliefs:
What are your core values? Consider going to an introductory class or service if you're interested in spirituality or religion. It's also possible to get involved in a political cause that matters to you by joining a related organization. A good strategy to expand your social circle is to join a larger group.
The quality of the people we surround ourselves with has a significant impact on our mental health in the same way that our mental health has a significant impact on the quality of our lives. Involvement in one or more communities allows us to understand our behaviors and experiences on a deeper level. Motivation comes from being linked to others, and for many people, the inspiration that comes from being held to a higher standard by others can spur us on toward betterment. People who care about you can give you a sense of belonging, support, security, and purpose all at once.
Ideally, communities should be made up of caring individuals who, as a result, encourage one another to take responsibility for their own wellbeing. It's possible that you won't find the ideal community for you the first time around, but don't give up. The good news is that no matter where you are in the process of finding your community, there are plenty of individuals going through the same thing. In the end, keep in mind that just as finding a community benefits your life, the members of your future community will also benefit from your being there as well.
